Opener 'Deep South' cooks up a humid house sound that takes you to the heart of a sweaty dance floor. Jostling drums and steaming hot vocals dial up the emotional rapture over a big, bouncing bassline that grounds the whole groove.
'Party People' cuts back with a more colourful and freewheeling sound - the diva vocals burst out of the mix next to lush xylophone patterns that get hands in the air and hips swaying.
The fantastic 'Heart Set Free' is a deep and sultry sound with smooth sax motifs and chord-laced grooves that move with grace and soul for those more tender moments in the night. 'Groove Life' shuts down with a focus on the elastic bassline, which bounces about the mix under old school vocal samples and drums that would make Kerri Chandler proud. It's a tasteful closer to an EP full of musical richness and timelessly crafted house rhythms.
