Salphunk steps back into the spotlight on Universo Positivo with a sparkling four-track expedition into electronic disco.
An alias of label founder Joseph Salvador — also known for his rhythmic explorations as MDA Grooves and the coastal funk of South Bay Jams — Salphunk is where his love of analogue warmth, disco heritage and modern dancefloor energy converge. This new release is pure feel-good motion: colourful, melodic and crafted with the musicality that defines the Universo Positivo sound.
Opener ‘Groove It’ sets the tone with rubbery basslines, shimmering synth flourishes and a rolling disco pulse that feels instantly inviting. It’s a warm, elastic introduction — the kind of track that eases dancers into the night with effortless charm. ‘Rush Hour Disco Drive’ shifts gears into high-velocity territory. Crisp percussion, neon-lit chords and a sense of forward momentum give it the feel of a late-evening city cruise. It’s fast, sleek and built for DJs who want lift-off without losing the groove. The third track, ‘Live On (Ultradisco Society Remix)’, brings a more emotional, cosmic-boogie touch. Closing the release is ‘Ti Amo Amore’, a sexy, disco finale that blends soft-focus synths, gentle percussion and a warm melodic glow.
